About Us

The Bangali Society for Puja and Culture (BSPC) Inc. in Western Australia is a community based non-political and non-profit cultural organization established in 2005 under the Associations Incorporation Act 1987 by a group of Bangladeshi residents to foster and promote cultural activities to enhance the quality of life in Australian society.

BSPC has a long history of performing arts and cultural heritage that contribute to the creative fabric and unique cultural identity of our Bangali community, allowing for manifestation and ingenuity of our roots as well as supporting the cultural diversities to the wider communities of Australia.

BSPC organises several festivals and cultural events including Bengali Cultural Night, Sarodiya festival, Diwali (Festival of Lights), Basant Panchami (Festival of Knowledge), ANZAC day, Women day, Art competitions, Sporting and volunteering with generosity of the team members who donate their time and talents for the benefit of the community.

BSPC aims to increase mutual respect, dignity, unity, tolerance of cultural difference, and compassion for those in need and pursuit of the public good, thus, promoting a healthy multicultural environment in Australia.

Our Values

BSPC comprehends the importance of multiculturalism’s inevitability as it dilutes and dissipates the divisiveness of ignorance. It encourages dialogue, often between radically different cultures that have radically different perspectives. It is important because it unstiffens the insignificance of tolerance and embraces it with the genuine humanity of acceptance. It is a bridge between the divide of tolerance and acceptance.

BSPC aims for societies to encompass multiple ethnic, cultural, and racial groups which are involved in different values such as recognising differences, national solidity, and equality. Recognition of differences acknowledges and respects cultural identities and encourages mutual engagement across differences. National solidity involves teaching a sense of civic attachment to different groups and identities. BSPC believes equality is imperative throughout society, irrespective of their age groups, gender, religious orientation, etc.

Our Mission

To create an environment that promotes and enhances the Bangali culture and harmonious co-existence with people of diverse cultural, linguistic, ethnic, and spiritual identities while preserving our religious values and cultural heritage. As well as promote the social and multicultural values, thereby building the cultural bridge between the Bangali and wider Australian community and strengthen the capacity of community to better engage and support the multicultural and faith-based communities.
